The Romeo y Julieta Story
Romeo y Julieta was established in 1875 and named for Shakespeare's famous lovers. The brand flourished during the twentieth century, and Winston Churchill became its best-known admirer—so closely associated with it that the long 7-by-47 vitola still bears the Churchill name.
The Romeo y Julieta cigars sold in the United States are part of Altadis U.S.A.'s portfolio. They are crafted through Altadis facilities and partners in the Dominican Republic, Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua. That modern portfolio ranges from the balanced 1875 and Reserva Real families to fuller Nicaraguan expressions, carrying a historic name into many different wrappers, origins, and strength profiles while preserving the brand's approachable, aromatic character.
